A number of years ago Owen Sound had an opportunity to get a casino which would have been a great source of revenue to keep taxes down. People argued against it saying that we would all turn into gamblers and it would be the downfall of our community, So Hanover Council had the foresight to apply for the casino and they were successful. Now they have a great source of revenue and our residents travel to Hanover - often staying overnight and contributing to the Hanover economy. If we had a Casino we would have a balanced budget with no tax increase.
